Asia Today is a cocktail bar at 35 Soi Nana in Chinatown, opened around the start of 2018 by the team behind Teens of Thailand, under Niks Anuman-Rajadhon. Its purpose is to showcase overlooked Thai produce: the drinks use bai hor wor, an indigenous herb from the Pga K'nyau community in the north, bai hoo seur, an aromatic leaf used in larb, and 13 wild honeys sourced from regions across the country. A pink neon sign inside reads 'This bar is better than Teens of Thailand'. The room is small, so bartenders talk guests through the flavours and tailor drinks to a stated sweetness preference. It has appeared on Asia's 50 Best Bars, reaching No. 43. The bar sits on the Maitri Chit Road side of Soi Nana, Pom Prap Sattru Phai, about 7 minutes on foot from MRT Hua Lamphong. Time Out lists Wed-Sun 19:00-01:00, other listings give earlier opening; it is a mid-priced bar, usually full at weekends, with no stated dress code.
