Baan Khanitha
69 South Sathorn Road, Thung Maha Mek, Sathon, Bangkok 10120
Daily 11:00-23:00 (last orders about 22:30)

Baan Khanitha is an upscale Thai restaurant on South Sathorn Road, the best known of a handful of Baan Khanitha branches in Bangkok (another is on Sukhumvit 23). It fills a spacious, elegantly decorated house with a gallery feel, and guides note that most of its diners are Thai, which is unusual for a smart Thai restaurant. The long menu runs from red, yellow and green curries to salads such as yam som o, a tangy pomelo salad with prawns and chicken, and seafood cooked the way you like it, with a separate vegan section. In the hot season it serves a khao chae set, with a weekend buffet at this branch. Main dishes cost roughly 400 to 900 baht. It opens daily from 11:00 to 23:00, about a 10 to 12 minute walk from BTS Chong Nonsi; booking ahead is wise.
Rating from public reviews

Diners love the elegant, spacious dining room, the friendly service and the generous, authentic Thai cooking.
It is pricey by Bangkok standards and fills up, so booking ahead is wise, especially for the weekend buffet season.
