Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC)
939 Rama I Road, Wang Mai, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330
Tue-Sun 10:00-20:00, closed Mon, New Year and Songkran holidays

The Bangkok Art and Culture Centre (BACC) is a public contemporary arts centre opened on 29 July 2008, funded by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration and run by the Bangkok Art and Culture Foundation. Its 9-storey building by Robert G. Boughey wraps galleries around a spiralling open atrium: the main exhibitions occupy floors 7 to 9, while the lower floors hold rotating shows, a People's Gallery, artHUB shops, cafes, an auditorium and a free art library, and the centre also stages performance, film and educational events. It stands at Pathumwan intersection on Rama I Road, facing MBK Center and Siam Discovery, and its third-floor entrance connects directly to BTS National Stadium by skywalk; the Saen Saep canal boat stops about 300 m away at Sapan Hua Chang. It opens Tuesday to Sunday, 10:00 to 20:00, closed Mondays, New Year and Songkran. Admission to exhibitions is free, although concerts and plays are ticketed; large bags go into lockers on floor 5, and flash, tripods and selfie sticks are not allowed.
Rating from public reviews
Each part combines public reviews from several sites (10,000 reviews). Not our own visit.
Free entry, a constantly changing mix of art, design and performance, and a calm, well-lit building make it an easy cultural stop.
You may have to pay a small fee to store your bag before heading to the upper floors, and quality depends on which exhibition is on.
