The Bank of Thailand Museum is part of the central bank's Learning Center on Samsen Road in the Bang Khun Phrom area, near the Chao Phraya river north of the old town. Its exhibitions trace Thai money and economic history, from early coins and bullet money to modern banknotes, and the main currency galleries sit in the strongroom of the country's first banknote printing works. On weekends, small booked groups can also tour the Bang Khun Phrom Palace, an ornate early 1900s building on landscaped riverside lawns. Entry is free. The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday, 09:30 to 12:00 and 13:00 to 16:30, with palace tours on Saturday and Sunday at 10:30 and 14:30. Bring photo ID and dress modestly, with no shorts.
