Benchasiri Park is a 4.7-hectare public park on Sukhumvit Road between Soi 22 and 24, opened in 1992 on the former site of the Bangkok Meteorological Department and run by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. It is built around an ornamental lake with a fountain, ringed by twelve contemporary sculptures by Thai artists. People come to jog the shaded paths, use the outdoor gym, skate area and sports courts, take children to the busy playground, or simply relax and picnic on the lawns, especially around sunset when the fountain and city skyline make a good backdrop. It sits right beside the Emporium and EmSphere malls, a few minutes on foot from BTS Phrom Phong. It opens daily from 04:30 to 22:00 and entry is free.
