The Chulalongkorn University Museum of Natural History is a free teaching collection on the second floor of Biology Building 1 in the Faculty of Science, on Phaya Thai Road beside Siam Square. It is described as the first natural history museum in Thailand. Visitors come for mounted mammals, birds and reptiles, including a dugong skeleton, plus Thai seashells, fossils, pinned insects and displays on turtles and snails. It is a working university collection rather than a polished attraction, so lighting is dim and many labels are in Thai only. Open Monday to Friday 09:00-16:00, closed on weekends and public holidays. Entry is free and no booking is needed. Take the BTS to Siam or National Stadium, or the MRT to Sam Yan, and allow roughly 30 to 90 minutes.
