Front Room is the signature Thai restaurant of the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok, on the hotel's lobby level on Ratchadamri Road, a few minutes on foot from BTS Ratchadamri. The dining room rises eight metres beneath more than 200 lanterns, with earthy tones, northern Thai ceramics and an open kitchen. The cooking is refined Thai rooted in home recipes and the balance of eight flavours, running from salads and curries to stir-fries. Diners rate the coconut cheesecake, the steamed grouper with larb-style chili and fermented fish oil, the scallop and lotus stem salad and seafood stir-fried with bitter beans, and a signature journey strings eight savoury dishes and a dessert together. Lunch runs 12:00 to 15:00 and dinner 17:30 to 22:30 daily. Expect hotel prices, typically over 1,000 baht per person.
