Hong Sieng Kong
734-736 Soi Wanit 2 (Trok Vanich 2), Talat Noi, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100
Tue-Sun 10:00-20:00, closed Monday

Hong Sieng Kong is a riverside cafe in Talat Noi, just south of Chinatown, set in renovated Chinese-style buildings more than 150 years old on the Chao Phraya. Antique furniture, carved wood and old collections fill the rooms, and tree roots grow through some brick walls, but most visitors head for the garden tables by the water, especially near sunset. The menu covers coffee, tea, cakes and simple Thai dishes, plus beer and wine, and the Talad Noi Orange Coffee is the drink people name most. You order and pay at the entrance counter before finding a seat. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 to 20:00 and closes on Mondays. Drinks and cakes cost around 160 baht each. Walk from MRT Hua Lamphong to Soi Wanit 2.
Rating from public reviews
Each part combines public reviews from several sites (4,319 reviews). Not our own visit.
Visitors love the riverside garden and the antique-filled old rooms, a calm and photogenic stop with boats passing by and a fine sunset view.
Many dislike the ordering system, where you must order and pay at the entrance and then serve yourself, and the food is often called average for the price.
