Khlong Lat Mayom is a weekend market in Taling Chan, on the Thonburi side of Bangkok. Despite the name, most trading happens on land across several zones, with only a handful of vendors working from boats on the canal. Visitors come for the food: prepared Thai dishes, snacks, fresh produce and small souvenirs at modest prices. It feels more local than the famous tourist floating markets, though anyone expecting rows of trading boats may be disappointed. It is open on Saturday and Sunday from 08:00 to 17:00 and closed on weekdays. Arrive early to beat the tour groups, and bring cash as many stalls do not take cards. There is no direct rail line, so most people come by taxi or Grab. Entry is free.
