Krua Apsorn (Dinso Road)
169 Dinso Road, Wat Bowon Niwet, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200
Mon-Sat 10:30-20:00, closed Sun (Tripadvisor lists 10:00-20:00; a July 2026 diner reports last dinner orders at 20:30)

Krua Apsorn is a family-run Thai restaurant founded by Chanchawee Sakunkan, known as Aunt Daeng; the original branch is on Samsen Road and this second branch on Dinso Road has served the Old City for decades. Diners come for home-style Thai cooking: the fluffy crab omelette (khai fu pu), stir-fried crab meat with yellow chilli or with curry powder, a sour yellow curry of lotus stems and prawns, and sato beans fried with prawns and minced pork. The room is a bright, air-conditioned canteen with fast service, and the restaurant has been listed in the Michelin Guide with a Bib Gourmand. It stands near City Hall, a short walk from Democracy Monument and about 10 minutes from Khao San Road; MRT Sam Yot is the nearest station. Open Monday to Saturday, 10:30 to 20:00, closed Sunday. Mains cost about 120 to 200 baht and the crab omelette around 320 baht, so expect 300 to 500 baht per person; queues start around midday.

Reviewers like the authentic home-style Thai cooking, especially the fluffy crab omelette with plenty of real crab meat.
It fills up around midday with a wait, and a few dishes come out on the oily side.
