Krua Jiang Mai is a small northern Thai restaurant in a two-storey shophouse on Soi Thonglor (Sukhumvit 55), between Soi 5 and Soi 7. The owner's family ran a northern restaurant in Chiang Mai before moving into delivery and catering, then opening this Bangkok shop, and the kitchen still cooks from the grandmother's recipes with produce and herbs brought down from the north. Most people come for the khao soi, with chicken drumstick or braised beef, and for nam prik noom and nam prik ong platters, sai ua sausage, khanom jeen nam ngiao and pu ong. Prices sit in the low hundreds of baht per person, cheap for Thonglor. It opens daily from about 10:30 to 22:00 for dine-in. From BTS Thong Lo it is a walk or short motorbike ride up the soi.
