Major Cineplex Pinklao is a stand-alone entertainment complex on Borommaratchachonnani Road in Bang Phlat, and the first of the Major Cineplex complexes, opened in the mid-1990s. Besides the cinema halls, with standard, honeymoon and opera-style seats, it holds a Blu-O bowling alley with 20 lanes and karaoke rooms on the third floor, a fitness club, restaurants and shops, and a cheap open-air market sits close by. Visitors like having so much to do under one roof, the sound in the renovated halls, the affordable snacks and the easy parking: the first hour is free and cinema-goers pay a flat 20 baht for the next four. It opens daily from 10:30 to 22:30 and many city bus lines stop outside. Entry is free; you pay per activity.
