Mother Roaster is a small specialty coffee shop in Talat Noi run by Auntie Pim, a barista in her seventies, together with her son; they rented an old building and turned its upper floor into a coffee bar, leaving the ground floor as the working mechanic's junkyard it still is. The draw is hand-drip coffee chosen from a shelf of 30 or so beans, Thai, Honduran and Brazilian among them, plus milk coffee, orange soda, cocoa, green tea and homemade desserts; cats outside, vintage rooms and street-art walls along the lane make it popular with photographers. The shop is at 1172 Soi Charoen Krung 22 (Trok San Chao Rong Kueak) in Samphanthawong district, about 10 minutes on foot from MRT Hua Lamphong, with no parking. Sources disagree on hours: mid-2025 visitors report 10:00-17:00 daily, while a January 2025 guide lists 10:00-18:00 closed Monday and Tuesday, so check Facebook first. A cup costs around 100 baht and a visit 100-200 baht.
