Pad Thai Fai Ta Lu is a small pad Thai shop on Dinso Road in the old town, run by chef Andy Yang and holding a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand since 2019. Reviewers call its noodles some of the smokiest in Bangkok, quick-fried over a fierce flame. The signature plate tops the pad Thai with slices of char-grilled pork loin, and Berkshire pork also comes deep-fried as crispy pork; another favourite is pad Thai with fresh prawns stir-fried in their shells. First-timers should head upstairs, as the ground floor can look empty while the main dining room is above. Portions are on the small side and prices are well above street pad Thai, with some plates reaching about 500 baht. It opens daily from 10:00 to midnight.
