Royal Thai Air Force Museum
171 Phahonyothin Road, Si Kan, Don Mueang, Bangkok 10210
Tue-Sun 08:00-16:00 (closed Mondays and public holidays)

The Royal Thai Air Force Museum, also called the National Aviation Museum, sits on Phahonyothin Road beside Don Mueang Airport and tells the story of Thai military aviation. Set up in 1952, it displays a large collection of restored aircraft, from early biplanes and wartime trainers to jet fighters and helicopters, spread over outdoor aprons and several air-conditioned hangars, with labels in Thai and English. Some aircraft can be climbed into, which makes it popular with children. Entry is free and it opens Tuesday to Sunday from 08:00 to 16:00, closed Mondays and public holidays. The BTS Sukhumvit Line has a station named after the museum a short walk away, and an on-site cafe serves simple meals. Many visitors come before or after a flight.
Rating from public reviews
Each part combines public reviews from several sites (106 reviews). Not our own visit.
A big, well-kept free collection of real aircraft, some you can sit in, that easily fills a few hours even for non-enthusiasts.
Much of it is outdoors and gets very hot by midday, and it is closed on Mondays.
