Ruepoh Seafood by Saen Somboon is a family-run seafood restaurant on Soi Srinagarindra 56 in Nong Bon, Prawet, open for more than nine years and listed in the Michelin Guide. It grew out of a family seafood kitchen from Chonburi, and most of its catch still comes from the Chonburi coast every day. The signature is pad ruea po, mixed seafood stir-fried with curry paste from a family recipe of about 50 years, cooked less sweet than many Chonburi kitchens. Regulars also order grilled river prawns, crab fried rice and crispy catfish salad. There are air-conditioned and open-air dining areas plus a car park. The nearest station is MRT Yellow Line Si Udom, Exit 4. Hours are listed as 11:00-20:30 daily, though weekend hours vary between listings, so call ahead. Expect about 250-500 baht a head.

What visitors love

Diners rave about very fresh seafood cooked the Chonburi way, big sharing plates and fair prices for the quality.

Good to know

The air-conditioned room can feel stuffy and smell of the kitchen, and the large prawn and crab dishes add up quickly.
