Ruyi Vegetarian, known in Thai as Suki Jeh Ru Yi, is a small Thai Chinese vegetarian restaurant tucked into Soi Phraya Singhaseni off Rama 4 Road, about five minutes on foot from MRT Hua Lamphong Exit 3. The room is simple, with only a handful of tables, and it draws a loyal local crowd as well as travellers. People come for mock meat and seafood dishes such as curry 'crab', vegan duck, spicy eggplant, stink bean stir fry and tom yum noodles, all cooked without eggs, garlic or onion. The long menu is written in Thai, Chinese and English with pictures. It is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00, and most dishes cost well under 200 baht, so a meal is cheap.
