Safari World is a large private zoo on Bangkok's north-eastern edge, open since 1988. It has two parts: the Safari Park, a drive-through route past giraffes, zebras, rhinos and big cats, and the Marine Park, a walking area with timed shows (dolphins, sea lions, orangutans, birds and a stunt show), a giraffe feeding terrace and bird aviaries. Plan half a day to a full day. It sits on Panya Indra Road in Khlong Sam Wa with no rail station nearby, so most people come by taxi, car or tour transfer, roughly an hour from the centre. It opens Tuesday to Sunday from 09:00 and is closed on Mondays. Walk-in combined tickets cost about 1,500 baht, less online. The park has long faced animal-welfare criticism and shut its predator zone for a month after a fatal lion attack in September 2025.
Rating from public reviews
Each part combines public reviews from several sites (6,692 reviews). Not our own visit.
Families love getting close to giraffes, lions and zebras on the drive-through and packing a whole day with back-to-back animal shows.
Many find it far from the city and pricey once extras are added, and some reviewers are upset by cramped enclosures and animals used in shows.
