Saigon Recipe is a Vietnamese restaurant in the Piman 49 complex on Soi Sukhumvit 49, between Phrom Phong and Thong Lo, opened by its founder Nguyen Thuy Tien after she moved to Thailand. With canary-yellow walls, vintage posters and antiques from Saigon, the room feels like a home in Vietnam, and the restaurant is listed in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide. The menu goes well beyond pho: bun bo Hue, the rich and slightly spicy beef noodle soup from Hue, is the dish most often recommended, alongside sour snakehead fish soup, banh xeo pancakes, banh cuon rice rolls, sugarcane prawns and fresh rolls, with Vietnamese coffee to finish. Weekday lunches offer set menus and there are vegetarian options. Prices are moderate. It opens daily from 10:30 until about 21:30, with a break from 15:00 to 17:00 on weekdays.
Rating from public reviews
Each part combines public reviews from several sites (1,807 reviews). Not our own visit.
Diners love the rich bun bo Hue, the homely Saigon-style room and the strong Vietnamese coffee.
Ratings on social media are more mixed than on maps, and it is a taxi or a longer walk from the BTS.
