Sanyod
89 Charat Wiang Road (Soi Sathon Nuea), at the foot of Taksin Bridge, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500
Daily 10:00-21:00

Sanyod is a busy Cantonese-Thai neighbourhood restaurant on Charat Wiang Road, by the foot of Taksin Bridge in Bang Rak, listed in the MICHELIN Guide. It began more than half a century ago as a food stall in a small alley. The roast duck with its signature sauces is the dish to order, often with wonton or egg noodles, and the menu also has rad na, shrimp balls and clay pot braised beef; reviewers note a Thai lean, with more chilli than in Hong Kong. The room is simple and lively, with round tables for groups. Prices are moderate, but service can be slow when it is full. It opens daily from 10:00 to 21:00, a short walk from BTS Saphan Taksin.
