St. Nicholas Orthodox Cathedral is the main church of the Russian Orthodox community in Thailand, a white building with traditional domes standing out in a residential soi off Sukhumvit 101/1 in Bang Chak. Its foundation stone was laid in December 2012 and it was consecrated in 2014; in 2024 it received a relic of St Nicholas. Visitors come to see the icon-filled interior and the unusual architecture for Bangkok, or to attend the Divine Liturgy, with services in English, Russian and Thai and a choir that reviewers praise. It sits on Soi Wachiratham Sathit 36 in Phra Khanong district, roughly a 20-minute walk or short taxi ride from BTS Punnawithi or Udom Suk. There is no ticket; it is an active church, so dress modestly and check service times on its Facebook page before going.
