Suananda Vegetarian Garden
109/9 Pan Road, Silom, Bang Rak, Bangkok 10500

Suananda is a vegetarian garden restaurant tucked down an alley off Pan Road, the narrow street linking Silom and Sathon roads, a few steps from the Myanmar embassy. It sits behind a wellness centre and cooks along Ayurvedic lines, with a menu that mixes Indian, Thai, Burmese and Middle Eastern dishes, almost all of them available vegan. Most people come for the shady garden, where a huge tree covers the tables, and for the falafel sets, curries, Burmese khao soi, tea leaf salad and hummus, washed down with Ayurvedic tea or fresh juice. There is also an air-conditioned room inside, and staff speak English. BTS Surasak is roughly a 10-minute walk. Opening hours vary between listings, roughly late morning to 21:30, so check before going. Prices are moderate for a sit-down restaurant.

Diners love eating fresh, carefully made vegetarian food in a peaceful shaded garden that feels far from the Silom traffic.
A few find portions on the small side for the price, and service can slow down when it gets busy.
