Tawanna Bangkapi is an old-school community market and shopping hall on Lat Phrao Road, right beside The Mall Bangkapi. Once one of the busiest shopping spots in the district, it now mixes an air-conditioned indoor zone with open-air lanes selling clothes (new and second-hand), phone accessories and repairs, nail and eyelash salons, massage chairs and everyday odds and ends. The main draw for locals is the food: stalls at the front and sides fill up in the evening with ready-to-eat dishes, seafood salads, grilled prawns and fruit at street prices. The MRT Yellow Line stops at Bang Kapi nearby, and the Bang Kapi junction links to buses. Open daily 10:00 to 22:00; entry is free, toilets carry a small fee and parking is paid.
