The Place 168 is a small Thai eatery tucked into a lane off Petchaburi Soi 19, across from the Juldis Mansion car park in the Pratunam shopping district. It is best known for a giant bowl of Mama instant noodles in creamy tom yum broth, loaded with prawns, squid, meatballs, crispy pork and two runny egg yolks; at around 195 baht it easily feeds two to four people. The long menu also covers a spicy pork bone leng zap soup, fried fish with papaya salad and many vegetable dishes. Seating is about 20 places inside an air-conditioned room and a small outdoor area, and queues usually move fast. It opens daily from 10:00 to 21:00. Ratchaprarop Airport Rail Link station is about 10 minutes on foot. Prices are budget level.
