Thotsakan Intersection Fresh Market is a busy neighbourhood market on Phutthamonthon Sai 2 Road in Bang Phai, Bang Khae, at the Thotsakan junction in western Bangkok. Trading starts before dawn under big tent roofs, with stalls of vegetables, fruit, meat and seafood alongside ready-to-eat breakfasts such as rice porridge, chicken rice and red pork rice. A smaller food market runs again from the afternoon into the evening, and at weekends extra stalls sell clothes, second-hand goods and household items. Regulars point to a vegetarian food stall and a stewed pork-leg stall. It opens daily from 05:00 to 21:00, and mornings are the busiest time. There is a large car park, but weekend mornings get very crowded, so arrive soon after opening.

What visitors love

Visitors like the huge choice of fresh produce, ready-to-eat Thai food and everyday goods, with stalls trading from before dawn and again in the evening.

Good to know

Weekend mornings are packed, so parking is hard to find and traffic backs up around the junction, and the tented lanes can feel hot.
