Wachirabenchathat Park, better known as Rot Fai Park (Railway Park), is one of Bangkok's largest green spaces, sitting right beside Chatuchak Park in the north of the city. Locals arrive at dawn to run or cycle the loop of about 2.6 km under big shade trees, and bicycles can be rented near the entrance for a small fee. Inside are a butterfly and insect garden (08:30-16:30, closed Mondays), pedal boats, a sunflower field, a dog park, sports courts and plenty of monitor lizards and birds. The park is open daily from 04:30 to 21:00 and entry is free, while the car park charges 20 baht. Weekend mornings get busy. It is a short walk from MRT Phahon Yothin or MRT Chatuchak Park, and Chatuchak Weekend Market is close by.
