Wang Lang Market is a daily street-food and shopping market in a 300 m lane between Wang Lang (Siriraj) pier and Arun Amarin Road in Bangkok Noi, on the Thonburi bank beside Siriraj Hospital. It takes its name from the Rear Palace that once stood here. Locals and students come for southern Thai food known for its heat, cheap sushi from Orathai Sushi at 5 baht a piece, tub tim krob (water chestnuts in coconut milk), stuffed buns from Wang Lang Bakery, plus fashion stalls, salons and cafes; the nearby Phran Nok junction has more southern restaurants. The Chao Phraya Express Boat stops at Prannok pier (N10) at the end of the lane, and a cross-river ferry runs from Tha Chang pier near the Grand Palace to Wang Lang pier in minutes; Tha Phra Chan and Thammasat University lie directly opposite. The market opens daily about 07:00-19:00. Entry is free, and queues form at the sushi stall.
