Wat Bang Phlat is a working neighbourhood temple beside Khlong Bang Phlat on the Thonburi side of Bangkok, at the end of Soi Charan Sanitwong 79. It dates from the late Ayutthaya period, around 1697, and was once known as Wat Bang Phlat Nai. The ordination hall rests on a curved base shaped like the hull of a junk and holds several Ayutthaya-style Buddha images, while an old twelve-cornered chedi with a broken top still stands in the grounds. Most visitors are locals making merit, and reviewers mention a small morning market at the temple front with a village feel. It is a short walk from Charan Sanitwong Road, and MRT Bang Phlat is about 600 m away.
