Daily, daytime (listed hours range from 06:30-16:00 to 08:30-17:00)

Wat Bowonniwet is a working Buddhist monastery on Phra Sumen Road in Banglamphu, a short walk from Khao San Road and Soi Rambuttri. Visitors come for its calm, uncrowded grounds, a large golden chedi, marble courtyards and a T-shaped ordination hall whose murals mix Thai painting with Western-style perspective, alongside two golden Buddha images. Reviewers say it feels authentic and peaceful compared with the busier temples nearby, and early morning is the best time to visit. Entry is free, and shoulders and knees must be covered. The grounds open daily in daytime, while the ordination hall itself opens mainly around morning and evening chanting. The Phra Arthit boat pier is a few blocks away.
