Wat Khlong Toei Nok is a riverside Buddhist temple in Khlong Toei; the word Nok (outer) sets it apart from its near-namesake Wat Khlong Toei Nai a short way inland. The main reason to step inside is its modern ordination hall, whose walls are covered in bright, colourful murals of the life of the Buddha and classic scenes of Buddhist cosmology around a modern Sukhothai-style Buddha image. Most visitors pass through on the way to Bang Krachao: the pier beside the temple is a main crossing point for the cheap ferry over the Chao Phraya to Bangkok's green lung, where bicycles can be rented on the far bank. There is no BTS or MRT station close by, so most people come by taxi from Sukhumvit. Entry to the temple is free, and it stays calm and uncrowded.
