Wat Lat Krabang is an old canal-side community temple in eastern Bangkok, set beside Khlong Prawet Burirom and formerly known as Wat Sam. It dates from the late 19th century, when local landowners and their family gave the land to build it. Its main draw is Luang Pho Khao, a large white Buddha image of brick and stucco in the Mara-subduing posture, built in 1908 and enshrined in the vihara behind the ordination hall. The grounds also hold prang towers, a Buddha footprint mondop, a waterside pavilion and several old Thai-style monks' houses, and a primary school stands on temple land. Reviewers mention the big car park and the cats living on the grounds. The Airport Rail Link Lat Krabang station is about a kilometre away. Entry is free.
