Wat Saen Kasem
Soi Saen Kasem, Khlong Sip Song, Nong Chok, Bangkok 10530

Wat Saen Kasem is a rural community temple in Khlong Sip Song, in Bangkok's far north-eastern district of Nong Chok. It was founded in 1890 on land donated by a local couple and was first known as Wat Sip Sam. The present ordination hall, with a three-tiered roof, was completed in 1977, and the temple's main revered image is Luang Pho Chiang Saen, a small Buddha seated in meditation and carved in the early Chiang Saen style. Monks' houses in wood, brick and mixed construction stand around the grounds with a sermon hall and a chanting hall. Only a few dozen people have reviewed it publicly, but almost all rate it highly. There is no rail or boat service nearby, so come by car or taxi. Entry is free.
