Wat Saen Suk
Soi Suwinthawong 16, Min Buri, Bangkok 10510

Wat Saen Suk is a large community temple in Min Buri, set on the bank of Khlong Saen Saep and reached from Suwinthawong Road. It is thought to date from around 1772, when local people built it as the temple of the Saen Saep fields and named it Wat Saen Saep after the canal; it took its present name, meaning great happiness, in 1944. Visitors make merit in the ordination hall and visit the mondop, which holds a replica Buddha footprint, a small reclining Buddha and images of revered former abbots. A pavilion on the canal bank is a pleasant spot to sit and watch the water, and part of the compound is used by the temple school. Entry is free and there is parking inside the grounds. The old centre of Min Buri is not far away.
Rating from public reviews
Each part combines public reviews from several sites (576 reviews). Not our own visit.
Visitors like the peaceful canal-side setting and the old shrines, and find it easy to stop by and make merit.
It is a busy working community temple with a school on the grounds, so expect ceremonies and school-day bustle rather than quiet sightseeing.
