Wattana Panich is a family-run noodle shop on Ekkamai Road, now in its third generation, whose claim to fame is a giant cauldron of beef broth at the entrance that has been kept simmering since around 1974: each evening the pot is cleaned and a base is kept to start the next day, with fresh beef, herbs and Chinese spices added daily. People come for the beef noodle soup with braised beef, tendon and beef balls, the kao lao version without noodles, a big bowl of stewed beef, and goat braised in Chinese herbs. The room is basic, with fans but no air conditioning; the shop appeared in the Michelin Guide in 2018 and 2019 but is no longer listed. It sits near Soi Ekkamai 18, a 20 to 25 minute walk from BTS Ekkamai or a few minutes by motorbike taxi. Open daily 09:00 to 19:30. Bowls cost about 100 to 200 baht; come before noon or mid-afternoon to avoid the lunch queue.
